Canada’s Top 25 Political Blogs – December

dectop252

The Western Standard is number one this month.  At least it got more traffic and respect than any other blog in the past 30 days.  That said it is true that if you add up the traffic and inbound links from Canadian Cynic, Scott’s Diatribes, and Buckdog into a … ‘coalition’, if you will, they easily outnumber what the Standard got.  So what I’m saying is that Canada’s real first choice is Werner Patels. Congrats Werner.

Good Lord, I’m dropping like a rock. What does the asterisk next to my number mean? (I take it there’s been some kind of recalculation.)

  2. Robert Jago says:

Yep. I set up two lines for PR6, PR5. For PR6, it’s 500,000. If the Alexa number is over 500,000 it gets dropped to PR 6 and it’s numbers are tweaked in an Obamesque fashion. For PR5, the line is 1,000,000.

It sounds maybe a bit dumb, but it’s done to make the list more sensible.

  3. Alan says:

Thanks again for taking this on, Robert. Sounds like you have far more important things to do that give me another reason to gloat over Jay position in the world.

There must be a mistake, I made it up to 13 this time ;-)

Thanks again for putting this together.

  7. Damian, on’t worry about the rankings; they’re complete BS and not reflective of actual site traffic. Besides, he only picks a few blogs, then runs them through Alexa (a service that fails to register most blogs and their site traffic, because users have to have Alexa installed in their browser to generate stats, and most people simply don’t bother with it, because it also creates some instability in certain browsers).

That ranking was never accurate and never will be. So don’t get your knickers in a twist. You could be 500 on that silly list and still be among the top-10 blogs in the “real world”.
