Mr Nice Guy: Jack Layton’s plan to help the homeless by emitting a lot of carbon

with 6 comments

You know how in the debates the leaders had to say something nice about their opponents?  I thought that was just “awesome” – so I’m doing the same thing today.  Call me Mr. Nice Guy, nothing but sunshine from here today.

News yesterday that Jack Layton’s campaign (Vote NDP – get Jack!) emits more carbon than any other party:

Jack Layton and the NDP have spewed the most emissions along their 38,343 km campaign trail, emitting 383 tonnes of carbon up to and including Sept. 30.

The Tories follow a close second, having emitted 317 tonnes along their 43-city tour, and the Liberals came in third at 284 tonnes.

But wait, I’m not saying that’s bad.  It’s good for the homeless – just watch this commercial produced by the Gruen Transfer:

  3. Why are you giving Jack Layton campaign platform ideas?

  4. You know what? If Jack Layton came out and said “As Prime Minsiter I would let provinces experiment with health care delivery” – he’d get my vote.

Stephen Harper and Gilles Duceppe are the only people who will allow that, and I can’t vote for Gilles Duceppe for a host of other reasons.

  5. Do you give Jack Layton any chance to be official opposition?
