I want to claim some credit for it – but don’t know how much of the behind the scenes stuff got to him. The original post on Bedard was featured on The World Tonight with Rob Breakenridge. I corresponded with the Mohawk Council this morning – and they were pissed that this guy is running – they were going to send notes out to their local media. I spoke with the National Association of Native Friendship Centres around noon – they were readying a press release for today or tomorrow … Brazeau at the CAP was aware, but I didn’t get anything back from him. I don’t know what to call this.
Maybe it’s an ‘assist’.
Surprising though that it took Dion 2 days to figure out that calling for the killing of natives is not quite what you’re looking for in an MP. Leadership incarnate.

Statement from Liberal Leader Stéphane DionToday I announce that I have asked for and received the resignation of Simon Bédard as the Liberal Party of Canada’s candidate in the riding of Québec.
Clearly, Mr. Bédard agrees that the statements he has made regarding First Nations people are not compatible with the beliefs and values of the Liberal Party of Canada.
While Mr. Bédard has clearly indicated that he no longer holds those views, the Liberal Party of Canada’s proud tradition of support for our Aboriginal communities must not be overshadowed by these comments.
EXIT QUESTION: Now what about Ricardo Lopez? Is calling for uppity natives to be deported – is that ok with Dion?
