John Galt Day
I have discovered the most wonderful thing …
There is a public holiday called John Galt day – it is 1 week and 100km away on August 4th. It’s in honour of a man who built cities and it is celebrated in one of those cities – Guelph, Ontario. If you’re a Conservative under 40 (i.e. someone who wasn’t born into the party), then that other John Galt* is likely the reason you became a Tory.
It’s just fantastic.
But the questions is begged, what to do about this?
*PS: If you don’t know who the other John Galt is – Google this phrase: “Who is John Galt?”

To save readers the google: the other John Galt is the hero an extremely long, very bad essay disguised as a novel by Ayn Rand. It is much beloved by extreme conservatives and libertarians who don’t read much fiction.

Way to go balbulican. Nothing like giving an unbiased synopsis of “Atlas Shrugged”. I can only hope that the readers of this blog are open-minded enough to do a bit of research and not take your response to heart. “Atlas Shrugged” is about working for what you earn and not having what you earn taken away from you by the government and given to people who are just sitting around waiting for hand-outs. An excellent read. I have enjoyed it everyone of the three times I have read it.

Thanks, balbulican, for demonstrating what a moocher sounds like.

Your opinions say more about you then anyone else ever could.
