So, to recap: The Liberal Green Shift domain name, www.thegreenshift.ca, was available and was registered. The for-profit Green Shift company was notified in advance. It got a ton of hits. It has received non-stop national publicity. Millions of people who never knew it existed, do now. This traffic, headlines, notoriety and attention cost the company nothing. To achieve this level of brand recognition would have taken a marketing budget bigger than, I suspect, gross sales.
And now it wants to sue?
Maybe an enterprising journalist should ask the owner, Jennifer Wright, how she votes. I’m betting it ain’t Liberal.
What a total, completely, total massive total, absolute asshole. He’s doing this poor business woman a favour by politicizing her brand? She should thank him for it? She’s biased against him? Good God, he sounds like a drunk bloody frat boy – ‘….I did her a favour – heh, heh, heh’.

Yes, I do. Because rather than make fun of Ecotrust, insult them, say they had it coming for naming themselves so provocatively (à la Mr. Turner) they said this:
“The Honourable John Baird, Minister of the Environment, today apologized to Ecotrust Canada for any inconvenience that may have ensued since the launch of the $1.5 billion Canada ecoTrust for Clean Air and Climate Change.
After we launched the initiative, it came to our attention that this non-profit organization was already using the name “EcoTrust Canada”. To avoid any possibility of confusion, we have agreed to stop using this name.”
