UK an “Islamic Nation” within 30 years – Church of England

with 20 comments

According to the most recent census in 2001, we Godless heathens make up 15.5% of the UK. Seemingly our ranks are being swelled by former Christians, as they are in steady decline. It would be better, I suppose, if we took to proselytizing amongst Muslims, because if we don’t, and their numbers continue to increase unchecked – then within 30 years, they will be the largest single religious grouping in the UK.

From the Church of Enlgand’s Newspaper:

If recent reports of trends in religious observance prove to be correct, then in some 30 years the mosque will be able to claim that, religiously speaking, the UK is an Islamic nation, and therefore needs a share in any religious establishment to reflect this. The progress of conservative Islam in the UK has been amazing, and it has come at a time of prolonged decline in church attendance that seems likely to continue.

This progress has been enthusiastically assisted by this government in particular with its hard-line multi-cultural dogma and willingness to concede to virtually every demand made by Muslims. Perhaps most importantly the government has chosen to allow hard-liners to act as representing all Muslims, and more liberal Muslims have almost completely failed to produce any leadership voices to compete, leading many Britons to wonder if there are indeed many liberal Muslims at all, surely a mistake.

Is it alarmist to fear a Muslim dominated UK? In fact would the UK be a “Muslim” country just because its largest single group is Muslim?

That is the tack of the Osgoode 3 who helped bring Mark Steyn before the Human Rights Tribunals for his alleged ‘Islamophobia’. They say that the growth of Islam does not threaten liberty, and that regressive laws on polygamy, blasphemy, free speech, women’s rights, gay rights, would not necessarily follow from having a Muslim majority. Click the links in that sentence and you will see why liberty is in fact threatened, and regressive laws and ways of doing things do in fact necessarily follow from having a large Muslim population.

More from the COE:

At all levels of national life Islam has gained state funding, protection from any criticism, and the insertion of advisors and experts in government departs national and local. A Muslim Home Office adviser, for example, was responsible for Baroness Scotland’s aborting of the legislation against honour killings, arguing that informal methods would be better. In the police we hear of girls under police protection having the addresses of their safe houses disclosed to their parents by Muslim officers who think they are doing their religious duty.

While men-only gentlemen’s clubs are now being dubbed unlawful, we hear of municipal swimming baths encouraging ‘Muslim women only’ sessions and in Dewsbury Hospitals staff waste time by turning beds to face Mecca five times a day – a Monty Pythonesque scenario of lunacy, but astonishingly true. Prisons are replete with imams who are keen to inculcate conservative Islam in any inmates who are deemed to be culturally ‘Muslim’: the Prison service in effect treats such prisoners as a cultural block to be preached to by imams at will. Would the Prison service send all those with ‘C of E’ on their papers to confirmation classes with the chaplain?! We could go on.

This is not a case of ‘meet the new boss, same as the old boss’. It took us heathens 1,000 years to get these Christians where we want them – nice and docile like. Well we haven’t had a chance to train the Muslims – every time we try, they lop off our heads.

And don’t make any mistake, it’s not the Christians they have a beef with – it’s us. Us and our pot-smoking, our lesbian covens, our free and readily accessibly porn, our wicked strong lager, our ’single payer’ funded tumescence, our free and easy over the counter abortion pills, our, well our ‘meaning of life’ – basically everything that’s cool and that we like.

If even the bloody Church of England is worried about the Mohammedans spoiling their “fun”, then we atheists ought to be pissing ourselves. And 30 years? That’s way too soon. If this were going to happen in our grandkids’ time, then what the hell? It’s not like we even have grandkids. But 30 years? I’ll be in my 60’s, I may just be needing the , um, single payer health care system – and to have all those options taken away, and all the real rotten dirty bits taken out of my favourite TV shows and movies – what a nightmare.

  1. Maybe you’re just trying to be hyperbolic, but there’s no such thing as an “over the counter” abortion pill. Are you meaning emergency contraception, Plan-B? That doesn’t abort a fetus, it’s a contraceptive, meaning *Preventing* conception.

  3. Let this fears afraid you not.
Since moslem has nothing to do with statistics or what not.

It doesn’t matter how many church or mosque in England will be.

  4. I do not think you have 30 years. You might have 5-10. If you understood the actual persecution and torture that non muslims experience every day in muslim countries, you would seriously consider your future. People are being killed every day. It is coming in your country and many others because of lax attitudes. It will be too late by the time people really wake up.

I know you are atheist. I wish you weren’t, but know God loves you, even if you do not believe in Him. Someday, you will really need him.

  6. marianne,
i hope you can check your facts…
Malaysia is a muslim country too… But no one is killed because they are non muslims… Can’t you see the sign?… Islam is true, and people are starting to see the truth now…
    My source? I’m a malaysian, a muslim and I’m proud of it…
Oh, and I do really hope that heaven awaits you…

To robert… Oh man… Go check your facts.., before you bash islam all you want… there’s no forcing in islam… You can be anything you want… but in the end, your grave is yours and my grave is mine… So, in the hereafter, i’ll be punished for the wrongdoings I did… And you’ll be punished for yours too…

    Like in a malay proverb…
You won’t love something until you know it…

I’m not here for a fight, just lending a hand to my religion which is under attack every day…

    have a nice day…

  7. I get reports almost daily about muslims torturing, persecuting, or executing non-muslims. Just because countries do not admit it does not mean it does not happen.

    as for maylasia:
    * April 23, 2003 – The ban on the Iban Bible was lifted after an understanding was reached between the Acting Prime Minister and Christian leaders. The ban stemmed from the use of the word Allah Tala for God in the Iban translation. (WEA/VOM)

    * April 2003 – Thirty-five Christian books, including the Iban translation of the Bible were banned, as they are considered detrimental to public peace. The majority of Ibans are Christians and thus will be greatly affected by the new ban, which makes the printing, sale, distribution and possession of any banned book punishable by up to three years imprisonment and/or a fine of 20,000 ringgits. Other books on the list include translated versions of books by J.I. Packer and John Stott. English language versions are not on the list. (Barnabas Fund/ANS)

    * July 2002 – Malaysian police have refused to enforce the Islamic justice system that Terengganu’s state government had tried to enforce. The federal government ordered police to stay with the old laws.
    * July 2002 – The PAS (the largest opposition party in Malaysia) is working hard to fully implement the Islamic Shari’ah law in Malaysia’s Terengganu state. Christians and non-Muslims are afraid that under the harsh Shari’ah law their rights will eventually be taken away. It has been promised the laws will apply to Muslims only, however they have already been enforced on on-Muslims. Several moderate peace-keeping leaders in Malaysia have either stepped down or died, leaving a power vacuum open to more charismatic Muslim leaders. (BFS)

    * May 23, 2002 – A French missionary was arrested on blasphemy charges after distributing a pamphlet on Koranic plagiary. Though he could have been sentenced to 2-5 years in jail for “acting in a manner which could lead to disharmony between Christians and Muslims,” a judge ordered that he be deported. (Charisma)

    * July 21, 2001 – The Marthoma Christian Community Center, in the city of Sungei Patani, was set on fire with damage estimated at 300,000 ringgits ($79,000). Police told church authorities the Malaysian Militant Group (KMM, Kumpulan Militan Malaysia) were probably responsible. (Compass)

    * April 24, 2001 – A Muslim convert to Christianity was denied permission to have her identity card changed to reflect her religious conversion. The woman, who has already changed her name from Azlina Jailani to Lina Joy, was told by a judge that she must take up the issue with the Islamic Sharia Court. According to a 1976 law, Lina will not be able to have a Christian wedding ceremony as long as Islam is the religion reflected on her identity card. As an apostate she also faces possible “rehabilitation” to convince her to re-embrace the Islamic faith.

    * January 12, 2001 – A Christian retreat center operated by the New Testament Church in Bukit Markisa was raided by police. Though admitting that the church center was a legal settlement and did not pose a threat to national security, Inspector General Tan Sri Norian Mai, said the raid will actually help the church by putting an end to allegations against it. No evidence of criminal activity was found by police who broke into the center and forcibly entered residents’ rooms. No one was arrested in the incident.

christians are second class members of society in Malaysia. Their rights are restricted because they are non-muslims.

  9. marianne oh marianne…

    You got your facts… I’m impressed… but it’s actually malaysia, not maylasia… hahaha… you are funny…

so that’s your ‘everyday’ torture and persecuting… even the data is not up to date… If everything that happened to your people here, you subject it as a form of religious oppression… Then what happened in other places to my muslim brothers and sisters in other non muslim countries may be regarded as a form of religious oppression too… No… I’m not suggesting that’s an eye for an eye… I’m just saying if you want to relate something to some other thing… In what way, in the end you’ll end up relating it… (I don’t know if I make much sense here… sorry…)

I admit that malaysia doesn’t have a clean record in human rights… but i believe that it’s not religious… it’s more of racial issues… well… considering that the country have 3 major races – malay indian chinese… I don’t know… considering the political turmoil right now… I can see that malaysia is heading towards a more free society… i can’t wait for that…

Whatever it is… People here are free to practice their religious and cultural belief… I have friends who are indians… and chinese… They are not like, tortured everyday… they all lead a normal life… they don’t live in fear, locked up in their houses… no, not at all…

    hmmm…

    Have a nice day…

    ‘everyday’ huh?

  11. So marianne…

the problem then is not islam… islam doesn’t promote oppression… islam is innocent in this case…

other ‘islamic’ country who oppressed others is the problem… May be their education system, the law, the leaders and something else are actually the roots of this problem… It is definitely not because of islam…

think about the internet… it’s innocent… the people who use it that makes it look bad… watching porn and everything…

    Have a nice day…

  12. I disagree. The larger the population of non-muslims, the less severe. Maylasia is about 20% Christian. They have outside support, and the area seems to be less relgious.

Countries that maintain Sharia Islamic law are the ones who kill non-muslims, and any muslims that do not strictly conform.

  16. There are indeed some Muslims who are moderate in the way they practice their religion. These people, for the most part, are culturally Muslims. They don’t practice Islam the way it is mandated. They pick and choose. Therefore, “moderate Islam,” is no Islam at all. It is not possible.

The hypocrisy of Islam. If Islam means peace, then why does death, oppression, genocide, and war follow Islam everywhere it goes? …

  17. The west has conquered almost every people in the past few hundred years. They have wiped out millions of Indians from North and South america, and the ones that they have not are now drunk gamblers.

They have done the same thing to austrailians and africans.

They have been trying to do the same thing to muslims for the past 60 years, and have failed. Even bombing them has not worked.

Now what the west has accomplished by means of weaponry and murder,

It seems that muslims are accomplishing that very same thing on European land using peace and love.

you must enjoy propaganda. Every European nation is complaining about the presence of muslims in their country. Muslims only feel peace and love when they get their own way.

Islam is known by its warfare, and propaganda.

  19. Guys, interesting chat …

Well I am a Malaysian Indian still living in Malaysia and studied in UK before so maybe I can shed a little light on this matter …

I guess I know where both Meru and Marianne come from … The thing is on the streets of Malaysia there is much more peace and harmony between the races compared to UK not because of religion but because of race …

There might be a negetive perception of Muslims in UK because of the social mix of the muslims in UK. Unless things have changed since I was there, majority of Muslims in UK are from under developed nations such as middle east and south asia (Pakistan, India and Bangladesh). Due to their background they seem to be a little more extremist in nature thus they project an image of Islam as an extremist religion … as in their home countries a lot of extremism takes place in the name of the faith due to lack of education, authoritarian rule and awareness …

On the other hand in Malaysis the majority of Malays are actually moderate … they are the nicest people in the world and do not succumb to extremist elements at all .. the races mix among themselves very well and have no issues among them … Like Meru I too have many Indian and Chinese friends and we get along very well … however every race have thier bad apples, just like some Muslims who are a little extreme there are also Indians and Chinese who are un compromising. For example although they are part of the Malaysian society for generations the Chinese and Indians have been pushing for their own vested interest for example a majority of Chinese and indians still attend chinese or indian medium schools which form a stumbling block in national unity .. although we have to respect their right to maintian thier culture but then it becomes a double edged sword as these give rise to muslim demand to build thier own islamic schools for their kids …

the problems with all the matters quoted earlier by Marianne are true and there are many more examples but it is more so driven by racial conflict and political gains rather then islamic agenda. If the British are worried that Christian will lose their dominant position in UK so are the Malays. The muslims form a weak majority of roughly 60% of the Malaysian population and this naturally makes them insecure and do dumb things although the general public is against it … For example in the state of Sabah which has a non muslim majority the government on instruction of the state mufti stopped the construction of a chinese deity as it opposes Islam. I know very few muslim on the street who would agree to such a dumb notion as in KL there is a huge gold plated Hindu statue and no one says anything, rather it is stated in all our tourism leafters as a tourist attraction and features on most visit Malaysia advertisements … similarly a lot of hindu temples were destroyed and relocated crudely and this is driven more by financial interest of developers rather then an islamic agenda … politions are using religion to devide and rule the country which as resulted in the mess we are in today …

For example Marianne quoted the example of Terenganu earlier but you are not aware of its background. PAS took the state in 1999 and tried to implement Islamic laws and saw themselves defeated badly in the 2004 elections as the Malays clearly send a message to PAS that although they support Islam they will not live under an extremist environment, as a result PAS had to tone down their Islamic agenda to appeal to a larger Malay moderate audience in the 2008 general elections.

Like Meru I hope the results of the recent elections will show to the government that all major races have rejected this notion of race based politics and we want an end to these issues once and for all …

Hopefully we will see some light at the end of the tunnel …

So yes, there is full freedom of religion in Malaysia and we are all living peacefully but then in recent years the government driven more by arrogance rather then a religious agenda has been making stupid policies that have made life difficult not only for non muslims but muslims alike …

I hope your country remains peaceful, or is as peaceful as you say.
