Who are Canada’s most important progressive Muslims?

I’m planning to write a series of posts as well as an article on Canada’s most important progressive Muslims. I’ve got the obvious: Tarek Fatah, Irshad Manji, and Rahim Jaffer – but who else is there?

I’m especially interested in Conservative Muslim figures. Conservative in the partisan sense.

Any suggestions are greatly welcome in the comments (please include a link if possible). I want to post something on them in time for my monthly blog rankings. Those blog rankings bring in 10,000 hits over the course of a few days, and usually lead to 3 or 4 posts being picked up by big international bloggers like Michelle Malkin, Tim Blair, and the Corner at National Review.com – so it’s a good opportunity to gain exposure for progressive moderate Muslims.

I’m also interested in finding out about progressive Muslims in other parts of the Anglosphere – if you have suggestions on who would be good there, please, again, do let me know in the comments.

Shukran.

Full Story of Mitra Kermani: June 3, 2008 :

This information about court of criminal and civil court order is public information you can go to criminal court and asked if this detail we say is wrong or right
    This is true statements:

Mitra Kermani never arrested or charged for any death treat against any person in Canada
How do you verify your information before you copy and past from National post

Mitra Kermani did not convicted of criminal harassment or criminal telephone harassment after two days trial got finished on Nov 21, 2007

Loblaw did not have one single evidence when they said:
All wrong accusation of Loblaw against Mitra Kermani they did not proof that
    Mitra Kermani is international terrorist
Mitra Kermani sharped the knife and cut something while she was talking in cell phone to John Tavolari
Mitra Kermani said that she plan to attack 22 st.clair
    Mitra Kermani said that
Mitra Kermani said she is going to shoot head of Glen Halfyard, chicken buyers of Loblaw companies

Instead Mitra brought 60 facts against Michael Kimber and Rob Balcom who were in-house lawyer of Loblaw who went with John Tavolari to made above wrong statement to police that Micheal Kimber is liar not lawyer said on Jan 11, 2008 to civil court and said in Nov 21, 2007 in criminal court because Michael Kimber sent too many wrong under oath affidavit to court and Now loblaw banned Michael kimber to send any more affidavit to civil court any more.

Mitra Kermani brought 14 proof documents on May 14, 2008 against Wendy Earle and Christina Litt outside lawyer of Loblaw who worked for Borden Lander Gervais finally on May 14, 2008 Wendy Earle and Chrisitna disappeared for first time after 3 years bring Mitra Kermani to too many courts and send new lawyer in Borden Ladner Gervias. Mitra Kermani noticed all those lawyer are Jewish anti-Muslim with document proof they did lied to courts and none of those label was true. Christina Litt now recently planed to change constitution law in Canada for Borden Ladern Gervais llp and Loblaw favour.

In last letter caused Wendy Earle of Borded Ladner Gervias to escaped was Wendy Earle lied to civil court that Mira Kermani is convicted to criminal harassment and Mitra warn Wendy this time if she come to court she will asked court to disqualify her from work in Canada in civil cases any more. Finally Wendy Earle did not show up.

What you do that when 10 person in big companies has power and are corrupted and get too much money to put you down.

Loblaw brought claim 14E while they know on year 2005 are not wining this civil court open criminal to made Mira case criminally serious to ban Mitra from Loblaw and Mitra fight them for 3 years not to talk to Loblaw to proof they are doing fraud.

Do you believe the company who worked more than 20 years in Canada are harass and force to work with some one in Canada Loblaw first terminate Mitra business then they did force Mitra not talk to them Mitra signed the civil court next steps was Loblaw brought criminal to scare other supermarket to not deal with Mitra Kermani
Why: corruption as result 1000 employees are fired they got under table money from broker to these items come up replace it with our friend German Canadian Pillers companies

Next was lets made defame nobody buy their business and let steal their suppliers that was hate crime against Mitra Kermani

If Loblaw not like to deal with Mitra kermani then why they signed contract on June 13, 2005 and Michael kimber breach contract on June 24, 2005 and went to Mitra Italian suppliers and said you must obey our order or you are going out of Loblaw and they forced them by cut 40 million from Mitra Italian supplier to deal with Loblaw and change Mitra brand to ‘ Crescent “brand by order of Michael kimber

Michael kimber is 55 years old man lawyer of Loblaw worked for 27 years in Loblaw and he is not never married and never have children did this game with not with Mitra he did this play with all manufacture include Maple leaf but those company has lawyer crook like Michael kimber can play with them but Mitra did not afford big bills for big lawyer able to protect herself

Then if Mitra never harassment never got convicted and her business was in top line on year 2005 never any business today replace Mitra business ever and Loblaw lost a lot by get 66 items of Mitra Kermani out of shelf and by law you can bring innocent to other court to charged them again unless you proof from Nov 21, 2007 Mitra Kermani never charged criminal harassment and Mitra Kermani was banned only with 9 people who was 8 loblaw executive 4 of them are fired from Loblaw already and one Wendy Earle
And criminal court said in court transcript when Mitra Kermani said to criminal court if I do not talk to Michael kimber he will come to me next month as matter of fact Michael Kimber and Wendy Earle come to Mitra Kermani house by send his last affidavit and Mitra Kermani called the police and Police said do not answer to them go to civil and asked judge to direct you since criminal court ban you for no talk to them why these two are sending you civil court again knowing this is another trick
Open Jan 11, 2008 Mitra Kermani also not found any civil contempt order then why again on next civil again Michael and Wendy made new motion on Feb 14, 2008 and asked for ban Mitra for all Loblaw employees for no cause of action and not ground to it

Criminal court under appeal was wonder in court of appeal now since criminal court told Loblaw the order then Loblaw could not changed it in civil court order now. This is like OJ Simpson trial that bring innocent in 8 times to win criminal in civil and unless Loblaw proof in that periods some thing happened that they asked for add all loblaw employees while we went to two days trial and nobody come to testify civil court without trial can not made judgment only because loblaw are big and Misom is small. Plus Judge Sach said she is not agree with expansion of all loblaw employee how come Judge McDonald give all favour to Wendy Earle even later Wendy send letter to justice McDonald said in your letter you said are not you made mistake please change it to are please.

Civil court has not jurisdiction to change criminal court order especially when that criminal court is under appeal. Therefore lolaw pay borden Ladner gevais over more than 14 lies to judge to change it in civil while we won criminal court harassment and we won civil contempt order on Jan 11, 2008 Loblaw has no ground to ban Mitra while they know there is not business with Mitra since 2005 therefore this is now civil court also went to court of appeal in Toronto but this time Mitra Kermani did asked judge in court of appeal to disqualify Wendy Earle and Christian litt and Rob Balcom and Michael Kimber lawyer of Loblaw for misconduct and abuse and abuse of process and using Mitra not have CAPACITY to fighting with them by sending every two month more than 60 big files filed in civil court against Mitra Kermani it is unbelievable

This is like one small companies verses big company fifth for her right took her 3 years and took her pain and she still fight for her right and freedom of talk and freedom to talk with who ever she likes to talk and in the same respect if some one like Mitra Kermani and ban by Wendy Earle to not let that person talk to Mitra is also painful for Mitra and this corruption, fraud, conspiracy, misconduct, abuse discrimination and abuse of process against small person only like to do or made and had lots of customers

This is up to customer who like to eat their food not Loblaw to control saying I like to feed Muslim Jewish halal food called Alsafa halal food because they are German friend of us that is nonsense

Loblaw has freedom to deal with anybody they want but in the same respect customer has right to choose who they like to eat for specially meals not non Muslim control Muslim food and not let Muslim come up under conspiracy and illegal competition act and under human right act all is hate crime against Mitra Kermani

Loblaw companies has right to breach contract by paying damage but Loblaw can not hold with million legal fees to play and destroy small company not pay their damages

:Loblaw companies is only sellers of halal food not control of halal food for Muslim not interfere in production of halal certification while today halal food in Loblaw under crescent has not halal certificate like Misom food on it. Then under food fraud act such as Maple lodge used “zabihdeh’ means handslaugher by fraud and Loblaw support them and cut Misom real Zabiheh out of shelf since Maple lodge are big and they like each other this is up to Muslim customers who they like not loblaw nonMuslim owner and shareholder to made fate of them changed. Misom supplier and Loblaw supplier are linked and when Mitra to go wal-mart they scared if helped Mitra they are out of Loblaw too therefore that was not simple Mitra go other supplier and then Loblaw get Mitra out to die of hunger under cool off period for 6 month by order of mentally ill Wendy Earle of blg firm. Borden Lader Gervias has too many Wendy Earle is one of most corrupted legal firm in Canada and upper law society is should one to blame here

Loblaw companies can not bring small companies and copy their information and when business came up give it like gift to nonMuslim Maple lodge and German Piller sausages friend of them. This is against copy right and innovator act

:Loblaw companies can not interfere in economic of small company and forced Mitra Italian supplier who were small too to change your label if you do not listen they did cut 40 million from them this is like act of Mafia we have money and we have power and we smash small if they are talking

Loblaw companies used Misom halal for 8years exclusivity like marriage can not get them hungry out and terminate them and not let them talk and negation any business called that on Aug 2005 “ cool-off” period Misom stay 6 month out and not talk and we are not pay damages and they did breach contract on June 13, 2005 and say stay for 6 month cool not talk if we like you we will return your business back if you talk you go to jail. This is not freedom that is dictatorship using power to bring small company used their information and forced to stay exclusivity only sell in loblaw and terminated their contract then go and look after her suppliers and then close her mouth to not talk when she agree not talk then again call the police said please charge her for harassment when not win again pay lawyer go and bring claim back in civil when you hit small with court one time you escape second time you escaped for more than 12 times finally you can find stupid judge such as Judged McDonald who k now may get money from Loblaw to change the law too for favour of big companies are always good and small always are wrong. Do you think in your life time of 18 years after 8 years work how many time you can tried this product again with new supplier without Loblaw not pay damage to Mitra Kermani. The company if not changed you can expected more criminal and conspiracy come out of Loblaw wait to see it more if they do once illegally they will did before and they will repeated again too.

Therefore Mitra asked Loblaw to pay 3 years damage for breach contract to Mitra Kermani cut all court order only not let people who not like Mitra and Mitra not like them do not talk to each others and if Loblaw chose to sell halal and not halal good available then they must cut the halal since all are fraud selling in Loblaw and /or let us sell too since they internationally plan to damage you too this is illegal

Loblaw has power such as when Mitra Kermani called more than 20 big firm all said Loblaw is our client we can not help you therefore all this is power give loblaw responsible not power to do illegal

Loblaw legal are misconduct must changed to good lawyers we have them a lot of them in Canada

Mitra Kermani is not fight Loblaw for treat them she fight for her right
She was innovate of halal food in loblaw and she is hungry outside and others cash her business and she is faced all criminal court which wrong and civil court should force loblaw to pay defamation to Mitra as punitive damage as well.

Therefore media welcome to come and like to listen to claim of Mitra Kermani in civil court and you can go and see all files in civil court is open to media

But you can not simply copy and past wrong information from National post.
We agree nobody has right to harass anybody for breach contract but big company also should not smash small companies and get envy over them if small but smart and loblaw pay money to damage Mitra Kermani intentionally also is called harassment too and court of criminal said to mitra you can bring peace bond against number of Loblaw that still bother you and interfere in Mitra Kermani business in illegal way using their power to damage Mitra too.

Today problems in lobalw is Lobalw lawyers and 24 executive of Loblaw who are crook still work in Loblaw and three crook ISNA and IFANCA and Crescent helped by Maple lodge, pillers sell food in halal label in wrong way.
Plus Woman are not right in any where not in middle east not n Canada as long as small yes as soon as become famous men get them out with one label and slander in food male industry in Canada no respect for woman in highest end manager unless take time
Mitra Kermani went in gifted school in Iran when she was 13 got number one in Mathematics among two million children of her age Mitra Kermani has Canadian chemical engineering degree and Mitra Kermani has so many pharmaceutical and petro gas and oil industry background and Mitra Kermani took 5 courses with A- in master degree in University of Toronto and Mitra Kermani has diploma in Muslim laws and Mitra Kermani has one year computer programmer and work for more than 18 years in industry still we must wait for get acceptance among Muslim Canadian went to so many ambassador house and lunch with their family in middle east and now Loblaw after 3 years suddenly you will they scare of Mitra kermani but Loblaw executive may scared of Mitra Kermani but not for death treat for killing halal food in Loblaw illegally those 24 employee send Wendy Earle and Michael Kimber must get arrested by criminal court as Mitra requested from them. Mira still fight for her claim for freedom of talk and freedom of choice for Muslim customer to let Loblaw get big high volume out only because their lawyer not like law of Islam in halal food and like their German friend of them !!!

National post scared Loblaw to post all story because Elizabeth Margelss Jewish anti-Muslim vp of communicator of Loblaw companies and Michael Kimber 55 years lawyer of Loblaw never married no with no family or children he is Jewish anti-Muslim planed to destroy all halal food in Loblaw companies and paid borden Ladner Gervis to lied to court and still court of civil refused to arrested Wendy Earle and Michael kimber for misconduct. National post knew Mitra Kermani never convicted of criminal harassment by lied to public later they said they will change and do correction to their post soon since by law what National post said isn’t true every body can come to court and say some one plan to shoot me but they must proof it if not proof it and you are not guilty then after 3 years this post go to news that means Loblaw prevent to pay Mitra Kermani claim again!
On other hand Mitra Kermani’s father worked for 35 years with Jewish Iranian sell carpet she is not anti-Jewish since she grow up with them and know the culture and since childhood in business of carpet she grow up with all communities and west English German and Jewish and Christian Mitra Kermani business should sell to anybody and the way she grow up able to work in loblaw more than 8 years and made 66 items and made multimillion dollar business never loblaw work with Muslim woman before but all tear apart by John Lederer cam up and hired John Tavlari and using their lawyer to fight Muslim halal food while all 1000 of executive are fired still so many left in loblaw at least 24 executive of Lobalw must get fired too in order halal food fix in Lobalw. Civil court are not doing good job in claim in fair way so far! And help big company only!

    An Introduction to Islam

    What is Islam?
Islam is a religion which guides its followers in every aspect of their lives. It is a way of life.
Islam is the modern or latest version of the message sent by God through Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus. Islam was sent to mankind through Prophet Muhammad. Islam is “modern” in the sense that it has come to complement the teachings which were introduced through Moses and Jesus.
Islam is a religion which seeks to give a meaningful purpose to our life on this earth. It seeks to guide us in fulfilling that purpose by creating harmony between ourselves, our Creator and fellow human beings.
What you will read below are some of the basic features of Islam.
    The One & Only God
Islam is a monotheistic religion. It teaches that there is only one God who is the origin and creator of the universe. This is the foundation of Islam, and is reflected in the famous sentence which says that, “There is no god but Allah.” (Allah is the Arabic name of God.)
The belief in God relates us to our origin and guides us throughout our life. The belief in one God shows that man should not worship any material thing or person in this universe.
By teaching that there is only One God for all humans, Islam promotes the sense of brotherhood and equality in human society–all are equally related to God in the same way. The Qur’an, the holy book of Islam, says:
    He (God) is One, God is Eternal;
    He has neither begotten,
    nor has He been begotten;
and there is no one equal to Him.
    (chapter 112)
    The Purpose of Life
Our life on this earth has a specific purpose; it is not the result of nature’s accident, nor is it a punishment for eating the fruit of the forbidden tree. We are here according to God’s plan: the wordly life is a test; it is a chance to prove ourselves as deserving of the eternal blissful life in the hereafter. God did not create us just for few years of this life. To be created just for this world’s life would amount to a joke played by the Creator with the human species. Muhammad, the Prophet of Islam, said,” You have not been created to perish; on the contrary, you have been created for eternal life.”
According to Islam, the final destination of mankind is the life hereafter. At the end of time, all human beings will be resurrected and will be held accountable for their wordly life. The life in hereafter will be an eternal life. However, whether it will be blissful or full of sorrow depends on how we spend our present life.
It was to help mankind in achieving this objective that God sent various prophets and messengers to guide them. Muhammad is the last prophet, and Islam is the final and complete version of God’s message.
Status of Human Beings in Islam
Prime Creation: Human being is the prime creation of God. He says, “We have indeed honored the children of Adam; spread them in the land and the sea, provided them with good things; and preferred them in esteem over many things that We have created.” (Qur’an: chp. 17, verse 70)
Born Sinless: Islam teaches that every human being is born sinless; no child carries the burden of his or her ancestors’ sins. God says, “No carrier shall carry the burden of others.” (Qur’an; chp. 35, verse 18). Each human being is born with a pure conscience which can absorb and accept the true message of God. It is only the social and familial influences which take a person away from God’s message.
Accountability: Islam also emphasizes on the issue of responsibility and accountability of human beings–each person is responsible for his or her own actions. Although Islam teaches that God has predetermined the span of our life and the time of our death, it does not mean that even our actions are predetermined by Him. We surely are free in our actions and are, therefore, accountable for them. God only provides guidance for us to know what is good and what is bad. He says, “We created man of a water-drop…Surely We guided him to the right way–now whether he (follows it and) be grateful or (goes astray and) be ungrateful is up to him.” (Qur’an: chp. 76, verse 3).
Race: Islam very categorically rejects racial discrimination. It promotes the feeling of brotherhood and equality among its followers. God clearly says, “O Mankind! We have created you from one male and one female, and then We made you into different races and tribes so that you may know (and easily recognize) each other.” Therefore, no one can claim any superiority over others based on racial or tribal differences. A person is to be judged by his character, not by his color or race. God continues, “Surely the most honorable of you in God’s sight is the person who is most upright in character among you.” (Qur’an; chp. 49, verse 13).
Gender: Even gender does not count as a criterion of superiority. In Islam, women are as human as men. They are not evaluated on basis of their gender, but on basis of their faith and character. Fourteen hundred years ago, the Qur’an recorded God’s clear statements on this issue. Out of the four verses, I will just quote one: “Whoever, be it a male or a female, does good deeds and he or she is a believer, then they will enter the Paradise.” (Qur’an: chp. 4, verse 124). So there is no difference in the degree or level of woman’s humanity or honor in Islam.
The only difference there exists is concerning the role which Islam has envisioned for man and woman. This has nothing to do with superiority or inferiority. In Islam, man and woman are equalm in rights; but equality is not synonymous to similarity. Islam believes that man and woman are equal but dissimilar. Islam looks at their different roles in society not as superior or inferior but as complementary to each other.
    Islam
    The Religion of Peace
Islam is a religion of peace. This is evident even from the name “Islam” itself. (”Islam” is an Arabic word.) The word “Islam” and the Arabic word for peace, “salam” both come from the same root, “salima”.
Muslims are taught to greet each other by saying “salamun alaykum–peace be upon you.” The daily prayers also end with the same sentence. In Islam, one of the names by which God is known is “Salam” which means peace.
However, one must realize that peace can never be achieved in vacuum. It is intertwined with justice. One can have peace only on basis of justice. “Justice” means putting everything in its rightful place. If one starts putting things in the wrong places, then he disrupts the social harmony and disturbs peace.
Islam seeks to promote peace on two levels:
    1. Peace within One’s Self:
A person can achieve inner peace by creating harmony and balance between his main emotions (desire and anger) and his spiritual self. In other words, between his emotions and his conscience.
Human’s spiritual power or conscience is not a static phenomenon: it has the ability of growth as well as decadence. God swears by the soul of human being and says, “He inspired to it to understand what is good and what is evil. Prosperous in the person who purifies it, and failed is he who seduces it.” (Qur’an; chp. 91, verse 10).
    2. Peace With Others:
Islam very strongly emphasizes on the rights which people have over each other. It seeks to perserve peace in society by training and urging its followers to fulfill the rights of each other. In Islam, salvation is not possible by just fulfilling the rights of God; one has to fulfill the rights of other human beings also.
Unfortnately, because of the Middle Eastern events of the last three decades, Islam has been branded by the media as a religion of violence. In recent years, the word “Islamic” has become one of the adjectives of “terrorism.” In this backdrop, firstly, one must realize that the events in the Middle East can be fairly and fully understood only in the light of the post-WWI history of that region, in particular the promises given by the British to the Arabs. Secondly, no fair-minded person would allow himself to blame the religion of Islam for the wrong-doings of those who call themselves as Muslims. It is just like saying that the Catholic Church promotes violence and terrorism because of the Irish Republican Army’s activites!

  6. Know - Islam says:

    http://al-islam.org/lifeprophet/
    Life of prophet Mohammad:

    The Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is born
Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) was born in such a family on Friday, the 17th Rabi’-ul-Awwal, 1st year of ‘Amul-Fil (corresponding to 570 C.E.) to bring the Message of God to the world. In Sunni circles, 12th Rabi’-ul-Awwal is more famous. Thus, the prayer of Ibrahim while constructing the Ka’bah was granted:
Lord! And raise a Messenger from among them who shall recite to them Thine verses, and teach them the Book and the wisdom, and purify them, indeed Thou art the Mighty, the Wise (Qur’an, 2:129).
And the tidings of Christ came true:-

O Children of Israel! Surely, I am the messenger of Allah to you, verifying that which is before me of the Torah and giving the good news of a Messenger who will come after me whose name will be Ahmed. (Qur’an, 61:6)

‘Abdullah, father of the Prophet, died a few month before (or two months after) his birth, and his grandfather ‘AbdulMuttalib took over the care and upbringing of the child. After a few months, according to the age-long custom of the Arabs, the child was entrusted to a bedouin woman Halimah by name, of the tribe of Bani-Sa’d, for his upbringing.

When he was only six years old, he lost his mother as well; so, the doubly-orphaned child was brought up by ‘Abdul-Muttalib with the most tender care. It was the will of God that the Prophet to-be should undergo all the sufferings, pains and privations incidental to human life in order that he might learn to bear them with becoming fortitude and raise his stature in human perfection. Not two years had passed before ‘Abdul-Muttalib also expired.

‘Abdul-Muttalib died at the age of 82, leaving the care and custody of the orphaned Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) to Abu Talib. Abu Talib and his wife, Fatimah Bint Asad, loved Muhammad more than their own children. As the Holy Prophet himself said, Fatima Bint Asad was his “mother” who kept her own children waiting while she fed the Holy Prophet, kept her own children cold while she gave him warm clothes. Abu Talib always kept the child with him day and night.

Abu Talib had succeeded ‘Abdul-Muttalib in Siqayah and Rifadah and was an active participant in the trade caravans. When Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) was 12 years old, Abu Talib bade farewell to his family to go to Syria. Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) clung to him and cried. Abu Talib was so moved that he took the child with him. When the caravan reached Busra in Syria they, as usual, stayed near the monastery of a monk, Buhayra. It is not possible to give here the full account of that visit. Suffice it to say that the monk, seeing some of the signs, which he knew from the old books, was convinced that the orphan child was the last Prophet-to-be. To make sure, he started a conversation with him, and at one point said: “I give you oath of Lat and Uzza to tell me…” The child cried out: “Don’t take the names of Lat and Uzza before me! I hate them!” Buhayra was now convinced. He advised Abu Talib not to proceed to Damascus “because if the Jews found out what I have seen, I am afraid they will try to harm him. For sure, this child is to have a great eminence.”
Abu Talib, acting on this advice, sold all his merchandise for cheaper prices then and there, returning at once to Mecca.
Sacrilegious War (Harb-ul-Fijar) and League of Virtuous (Hilful-Fudhul)
At a place known as ‘Ukaz, a great annual fair used to be held during the month of Dhul-Qa’dah during which war and bloodshed were forbidden. At the time of the fair, ‘Ukaz presented a scene of pleasure and abandonment with its dancing girls, gaming tables, drunken orgies, poetic contests and shows of prowess ending frequently in brawls and bloodshed. At one of the fairs, war broke out between the Quraish and the Banu Kinanah on one side and the Qais ‘Aylan on the other. This war continued for a number of years with a considerable loss of life and varying fortunes. The lewd scenes, drunken affrays and the horrors of the war must have created a deep impression on Muhammad’s sensitive mind. When the Quraish were ultimately victorious, a league was formed, on the suggestion of Zubayr, an uncle of the Prophet, to prevent disturbances of peace, to help victims of oppression, and to protect travelers. Muhammad took a very active interest in the functioning of this League which came into being as a result of a settlement known as Hilf-ul-Fudhul between Banu Hashim, Banu Taym, Banu Asad, Banu Zuhrah and Banu Muttalib. The League continued to function for half a century following the inception of Islam.
    Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) marries Khadijah
Now, Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) was old enough to go with the trade caravans. But Abu Talib’s financial position had become very weak because of the expenses of Rifadah and Siqayah, and it was no longer possible for him to equip Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) with the merchandise on his own. He, therefore, advised him to act as agent for a noble lady, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid, who was the wealthiest person in Quraish. It is written that in the trade caravans, her merchandise usually equaled the merchandise of the whole tribe put together.

Her genealogy joins with that of the Holy Prophet at Qusayi. She was Khadijah daughter of Khuwaylid ibn Asad ibn ‘Abdul-’Uzza ibn Qusayi.

The reputation which Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) enjoyed for his honesty and integrity, led Khadijah to willingly entrust her goods to him for sale in Syria. He traded in such a way that the goods earned more profit than expected, and yet he was praised for his integrity, honesty and generosity. Khadijah was very much impressed. Only two months after his return to Mecca, he was married to Khadijah. He was twenty-five years of age and Khadijah was forty and a widow.

    Reconstruction of the Ka’bah
In about 605 A.D., when the Holy Prophet was 35 years old, a flood swept Mecca and the building of the Ka’bah was badly damaged. The Quraish decided to rebuild it. When the walls reached a certain height, a dispute arose between various clans as to whom should the honor of placing the Black Stone (Hajar Aswad) in its place go. This dispute threatened to assume serious proportions but, at last, it was agreed upon that the first person to enter the precincts of the Ka’bah the next morning should arbitrate this issue.

It so happened, that first person was none other than Muhammad (s.a.w.a.). The Quraish were pleased with the turn of the events because Muhammad was well recognized as the Truthful and Trust-worthy personality.

People often take the name of one of their great and powerful personalities at the time of doing or beginning a work. By this association, it is believed, the work would achieve success, greatness and blessings; or that it would be a memorial to keep the named one’s memory alive for ever. This is also observed in naming a child, a project, a house or an association – they give it the name of a deeply loved or highly respected person, so that his name would continue in this form; for example, a man names his son after his father, in order to perpetuate the father’s memory.
This verse runs on the same line. Allah began His speech with His Own name – Great is His name – so that the ideas taught in this chapter be stamped by, and associated with it. Also, it teaches a lesson to mankind, showing them the perfect manner of starting all their talks and actions; it guides them to put the stamp of the divine name on all their activities; doing every work for the sake of Allah, associating it with His good names and attributes. In this way that action would neither be rendered null and void, nor remain incomplete; it has been started in the name of Allah, and negation and annihilation cannot reach that sacred name.
Allah has declared variously in the Qur’an that what is not for His Person must perish, is in vain; He Will proceed to the deeds not done for His sake and shall render them as scattered floating dust; He shall forfeit what they have done and shall nullify their deeds; and that nothing shall remain except His honored Person.
Therefore, what is done for the sake of Allah and performed in His name, shall continue and will not perish. Everything, every work and every affair shall have its share of eternity – as much as it is related to Allah. It is this reality that has been hinted at in the universally accepted tradition of the Prophet: “Every important affair, not begun with the name of Allah, shall remain incomplete….” The word al-abtar (translated here as “incomplete’’) means a thing whose end is cut off, an animal whose tail is severed.
The preposition “bi” (in, with), in the phrase “In the name of Allah”, is related to an implied verb, “I begin”. This verse, at this particular place, begins the speech which is a single action; this singleness comes from the singleness of its meaning; that is, the meaning intended to be conveyed, the aim and purpose of the speech.
Allah has mentioned the purpose for which His speech the whole Qur’an – has been revealed: . . . indeed, there has come to you a light and a clear Book from Allah; with it Allah guides him who follows His pleasure into the ways of safety. . . (5:15 -16). There are other verses which show that the aim with which the Book – the speech of Allah – has been sent down is the guidance of the people.
Therefore, the full import of the sentence would be as follows: The guidance, total guidance is begun with the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful; He is Allah, Whom the servants return to; He is Beneficent, Who has opened the way of His All-encompassing mercy for believers and disbelievers alike, the mercy which provides them with all that is necessary and good for their existence and life; He is Merciful, Who has reserved His special mercy for the believers, the mercy which ensures their happiness in the life hereafter and their nearness to their Lord. Allah has said: . . . and My mercy encompasses all things; so I will ordain it (specially) for those who guard (against evil) and pay zakat, and those who believe in our signs (7:156). This explanation has been written, putting this verse in the framework of the whole Qur’an, of which it is the first sentence.
Again, Allah has repeatedly mentioned “chapter” in His speech. For example: Say: “Then bring a chapter like this… (10:38); Say: “Then bring ten chapters like it, forged. (11:13); And whenever a chapter is revealed . . . (9:86); (This is) a chapter which We have revealed . . . (24: 1). It shows that Allah Himself has divided His speech in various parts, each part being called a chapter. It naturally means that every chapter is a single unit in structure and in fullness of meaning; and that that unity is not found between various verses of a chapter or between one chapter and the other. It necessarily follows that the theme of every chapter is different from the other; every chapter is revealed with a certain aim in view, and when that aim is achieved the chapter comes to its end.
Therefore, the verse, “In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful” coming at the beginning of every chapter, refers to the particular theme of that chapter.
Accordingly, this verse, at the beginning of this chapter of “The Opening”, refers also to the theme of this chapter. It appears from its semantic flow that its purpose is to praise Allah and to pledge the believer’s servitude (declaring that he worships only Allah and seeks help from Him only) and then to pray for divine guidance. This speech has been uttered by Allah, on behalf of Ms servant, so that the servant may learn how, by repeating these words, he may show his gratitude to, and servitude before, Allah.
This pledging of servitude is the important work which the servant of Allah intends to do; and which he begins in the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. In this context, this verse would mean: In Thy name, I pledge my servitude to Thee.
In this first verse of this chapter, therefore, the preposition, “in”, is related to the implied verb, “I begin”; and the aim is to perfect the sincere servitude by addressing the pledge to Allah Himself. Some people have said that the implied verb is “I seek help” (by); although this view is not objectionable, but “I begin” is more appropriate – the chapter explicitly seeks divine help, “and Thee do we beseech for help”; therefore, it is not necessary in the beginning.
“al-Ism ” (= name) is the word that points to the named thing or person. It is derived from as-simah (= sign, identifying mark) or as-sumuww (= height, eminence). In any case, it is the word by which an individual thing or person is spoken of or spoken to. Naturally, it is other than, and separate from, the named thing.
The following is a sample of the academic exercises so much loved by the ancients:
There is a name that means “the person himself seen in the light of an attribute”; such a name is not separate from the named person; it is the person himself. The word al- Alim (= The Knower), one of the divine names, points to the Person of Allah as seen in the light of His attribute of Knowledge. At the same time, it refers to Allah Who cannot be known except by one or the other of His attributes. Let us explain this matter in another way: “Name” points to the named person; likewise the personal traits and characteristics point to the holder of those traits and characteristics – in this way, we may say that the personal traits are the “names” of the person concerned. “Name”, accordingly, can be of two kinds: in words, and in substance. The direct name is of the second type, that is, the personal trait that points to its own subjects – for example, the “Knowledge” that points to Allah, the holder of the knowledge. And the word “the Knower” is in reality an indirect name – it points to the direct name, that is, the attribute of knowledge, which in its turn directly points to its holder, that is, Allah. “Knowledge” is, thus, the name of Allah, and “the Knower” is “the name of the name”.
The above was the result of the academic analysis (or should we say, mental luxury!) mentioned earlier; but such things should not be imposed on language and literature. “Name”, according to the “plain Arabic language”, means what we have written earlier. There was a lot of controversy going on among the theologians of the early centuries of Islam: whether the name was separate from the named person or not. Such unnecessary polemics is out of place at present times; it is self- evident that “name” and “named” are two things, and not one. We should not waste time and energy in quoting the ancients’ arguments and counter-arguments, and in judging who was right.
“Allah” (= the divine name) was originally al-Ilah; the “I”; in the middle was omitted because of frequent use. al-Ilah is derived from alaha ( = he worshipped) or from aliha or waliha (= he was bewildered). It is on paradigm of al-fi’al in meaning of al-maf’ul (= object-noun). For example, al-Kitab means al-Maktub (= the written); likewise al-Ilah means al-Ma’luh that is, the One who is worshipped, or the One about whom minds are bewildered.
Quite clearly, it has become the proper name of God. It was commonly used in this meaning in Arabic long before the Qur’an was revealed. The fact that even pre-Islamic Arabs used this name for God, may be inferred from the following verses:
And if you should ask them who created them, they would certainly say: “Allah” …. (43:87)
.. . . and they say: “7his for Allah ” – so they assert – “and this is for our associates”. (6:136).
Other divine names may be used as adjectives for this name; for example, “the Beneficent and the Merciful Allah”; also, this name is used as subject of the verbs derived from other divine names; for example, “Allah knew”, “Allah had mercy”, “Allah gave sustenance” etc. But the word, “Allah”, is never used as adjective to any other name, nor is the verb derived from it used to describe other names. It is a clear proof that it is the proper name of God.
The divine existence, in as much as Allah is the God of everything, presupposes that He should have all the attributes of perfection; and, as a result, this name points to all perfect attributes. That is why it is said that the name, “Allah”, means “the Person Who is the Essential Being, and Who encompasses all the attributes of perfection”. But the fact is that it is the proper name of God and no other meaning (except that related to worship or bewilderment) has been taken into consideration here.
“ar-Rahman ar-Rahim (= The Beneficent, the Merciful) are two adjectives derived from ar-rahmah (= mercy).
When you see someone suffering from a deficiency which he cannot remove. by himself, the reaction which you experience and which tells you to provide him with what he needs in order to make up his deficiency, is called mercy. Ultimately, mercy means giving and bestowing to fulfill other’s need. It is this latter meaning in which this attribute is used for Allah.
“ar-Rahman” is on a paradigm which is used for magnification and exaggeration. “ar-Rahim” paradigm of as-Sifatu ‘l-mushabbah (= perpetual adjective, inseparable attribute). Therefore “ar-Rahman” (translated here as “the Beneficent”) relates to that all-encompassing mercy that is bestowed upon the believers and the unbelievers alike. It is used in the Qur’an, mostly in this meaning. Allah says: The Beneficent (God) is firm in power (20:5); Say: ‘As for him who remains in error, the Beneficent (God) will surely prolong his length of days . . . (19:75). “ar-Rahim” (translated here as “the Merciful”), on the other hand, is more appropriate for that mercy which shall remain for ever, the perpetual inexhaustible mercy that shall be bestowed on the believers in the life hereafter. Allah says: . . . and He is Merciful to the believers (33:43); surely to them (i.e., the believers) He is Compassionate, Merciful (9:117). That is why it is said that the mercy of “ar-Rahman ” is common for the believers and the unbelievers, and that of “ar-Rahim” is reserved for the believers.
QUR’AN: All praise is due to Allah:
It has been said that “al-hamd” is to praise someone for a good acquired by his own intention, “al-madh” (also translated as praise) is more general – it is used to praise even that good which someone is given without his will and power. If you praise someone for his benevolence, you may use either word – al-hamd or al-madh but if you want to praise a pearl for its luster, you may use the verb al-madh, but not al-hamd because the pearl has not acquired that luster by its own will and power.
“al” (translated here as “all”) in “al-hamd” denotes either species or praise, or each and every praise. The end-result is the same in either case; that is why it has been translated here as “all”.

Why Elizabeth Margless, VP of communication of Loblaw companied ltd did not call National post to ask to change and correction the incorrect information such as:
    http://www.nationalpost.com/rss/story.html?id=436641
‘ Ms. Kermani was convicted of criminal harassment last year, the documents say, but the harassment continued and Loblaw recently asked a Toronto court to enforce a no-contact order against Ms. Kermani– again. ‘
While in fact: criminal court wrote in year 2008
‘ ……Ms. Kermani contended that in other proceedings counsel has refereed to her being convicted of a criminal offence, or being convicted of criminal harassment if that has occurred it is unfortunate , since Ms. Kermani was not convicted of criminal offence in relation to this conduct, and was neither found guilty of or convicted of criminal harassment … “

‘Counsel’ in above paragraph refer to : ( Wendy Earle and Christina Litt of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP outside lawyer of Loblaw by help of Michael Kimber and Robert Balcom of in-house lawyer of Loblaw who are employees of Loblaw companies ltd )
regard to breach peace bond of not communicate from Mitra Kermani with 5 remaining employees in Loblaw companies ltd criminal court said in year 2008 ‘….that finding is not a criminal conviction….’ Also will end by few more months
Why counsel of Loblaw under oath said civil court in Feb 14, 2008 using opposite wording by false report to Justice McDonald said ‘Mitra Kermani was convicted of breach peace bond … and criminal harassment…” and as result Loblaw counsel asked for ban all employees of Loblaw from Mitra Kermani by wrong false ground (while in fact Mitra Kermani was not criminal conviction won in Nov 2007 and no civil contempt order won on Jan 1, 2008?
