Lega Nord and the Berlusconi victory

Everyone on the right is excited about the Berlusconi victory in the Italian elections. ONe signifcant thing that happened during the election was that the left was crush, and the anti-immigration parties doubled their vote.

I won’t go into too much detail, you can read heaps of detail here - but I want to show you one of the Northern League’s election posters - the Northern League is one of those parties that ran on an anti immigration platform:

You can click on the poster to enlarge it. Loosely translated, what it says in English is this: “They had rapid immigration, now they live on reserves! Think about it.”

Whatever you think of the Lega, that poster is just amazing.

When Cortez arrived in the Americas, he gave the natives a choice: convert to my religion, or be prepared to be conquered.

Is there not somebody saying that these days?

My name is Robert Jago. I am active in Federal Tory politics and I am one of those arrogant atheists you read about - this blog may or may not reflect that bias. I studied PoliSci and History at SFU here in Vancouver. I have lived in and worked in Europe and the Middle East.
