The people are rioting in the town of Mhalla – about 50 miles from Alexandria in the north of Egypt. The rioting broke out over rising prices and low wages.

The Mhalla riots are going into their second strong day. 50,000 people are rioting. The police is shooting tear gas, rubber bullets, you name it, and IT’S NOT WORKING. The demonstrators were originally only like 2000-3000, but the government crackdown forced the people on the street. And until today, it’s a War Zone.
FYI – the consensus is that these riots have nothing to do with the Muslim Brotherhood but are instead a spontaneous Workers Uprising.
4 people have been killed in the riots so far, including a 15-year old boy.
