For me, typography is 80% of design. A white poster with beautiful type-face, stylishly arranged does so much more than some intricate design ever could. I found this video on typography. A beginner’s guide - it’s really wonderful:

re: this blog's design

I do a lot of graphic design. It's a hobby of mine. I design posters, flyers, newspapers, web sites, email shots etc... for political parties and political action groups. My work has made its way into more than a million homes.

I'm also a perfectionist. So I keep switching the design on this blog from one template to another. I'm in the process of building a proper wordpress.org site - but until that's done, yeah, this thing won't look the same twice.
