The Green Party`s post on Earth Hour is a bit creepy:
I just had a last minute thought re tonight’s Earth Hour event.
Between 8 and 9 tonight, I’ll be doing what I usually do at that time:I’ll be out with my wife walking our two dogs 5km around our small town.
Tonight, however, I’ll be looking at my neighbours’ windows to see which ones are participating in Earth Hour. I’ll be noting those houses and when the election campaign comes, I’ll be knocking on those doors. I’ll be armed with the knowledge that these are environmentally aware and concerned people and they are prime targets for a GPC campaign. I may knock on some of those doors even before an election
…if you’re out for a walk tonight while your lights are out, take note of who else has their lights out.
I`ve always thought these guys were facists, but asking their supporters to peer through their neighbours’ windows? Taste of things to come …
unrelated: I got a charming comment from a green at Cambridge the other day: “we could bury the author of this unfunny missive.”. They never stray far from their roots – these Greens.

Surely you did not miss the Green’s intent, but apparently you did. He was only suggesting that Greens take advantage of this public display of concern about global warming to identify like minded folks. I get the impression that the plan is to contact these folks later and say “I was out walking my dog that night when all the lights were turned out and I noticed that you had turned yours off. Are you concerned about climate change?” in hopes of finding votes for Greens.
If you think we very weak and underfunded Greens are a real threat to you, ask yourself…did the Greens destroy Northern Rock? Did they take the Union Jack and stick in the shifting sands of Iraq, or was that a Labour Party decision…and does anyone really believe the Torys would not have followed Bush down a rabbit hole just like Thacher did with Reagan?
We all have plenty of real problems. The Green Party ain’t one of them.
I missed this one. Wish I still had. There’s a difference between “through” and “at”. Way to ham up a title though, as you found out it works to distort in order to get more page views.
