Dutch Preemptively Apologize to Muslims for “Fitna”
Geert Wilders’ film “Fitna” hasn’t been seen yet – it’s been blocked from TV and its site has been taken down from the internet. But even though no one has seen it, Dutch quislings have queued up to say sorry to Muslims in advance of his film.
On Tuesday, Mediamatic, an Amsterdam-based cultural organisation, invited people to video themselves dressed as Wilders saying “I am sorry”. They were encouraged to put the films online under the name Fitna by Geert Wilders as a protest against the film.
Here is one of those videos. There are many many more.
Mediamatic, the company behind the videos gave this as their reason for it:
We can compete for attention however. And we can produce disinformation. So we are going to make Movies called “Fitna” in which we apologise for Geert Wilders embarrassing behaviour. We will make so many of them that it will be hard to find the movie by Wilders without finding lots of movies apologising for it.
Just to let the world (and ourselves) know that allowing confused people to speak does not mean that we agree with what they say. Sorry.
What trivial, infantile, detestable, repugnant people. Before anything else, I absolutely object to their use of the word “allow” – as in “allowing confused people to speak”. What backward thinking. He has a natural right to say what he wants, he isn’t ‘allowed’ to speak – it’s part of every person’s very nature that they say what they think.
Next, apologizing. It’s ironic isn’t it. Surely these people object to the film because it ‘characterizes a whole group’ or some such. But what are they doing by apologizing? They are placating Islamist thugs who characterize all Dutch people based on Wilders’ actions.
Finally, what bugs me most is that these apologists probably think that they are ‘progressive’. Yet who is it that is standing up to gay bashers? Who is it standing up for women’s rights? and who is it standing up for progress?
It’s certainly not these jackasses, it’s heroes like Ayan Hirsi Ali, Theo Van Gogh, and Pim Fortuyn and possibly Geert Wilders. Right wingers that the apologists probably think they are superior to.
Wilders gets way too much attention outside the Netherlands, he’s barely being taken seriously here.

Good to see that somebody outside The Netherlands sees the movement to silence Mr. Wilders for what it is: surrendering free speech in fear of religious zealots. Anybody who is critical of the islamic ideology is quickly labeled as a racist or right wing extremist in The Netherlands, and attempts are then made to silence or isolate such critics.
The most concerning aspect of this situation is that you find support for silencing Wilders predominantly on the left. It’s hard to believe that the parties that like to think of themselves as ‘progressive’ or ‘liberal’ are now the apologists for an inherently intolerant and conservative ideology (islamism).
This can be partly explained by the 80% to 90% of the Dutch muslim vote that these parties have, and are afraid to lose. There is also a confused morality, whereby people on the left of the political spectrum see Dutch muslims as a minority, and therefore as eternal victims.
A lot of people also seem to have no idea of the value of liberty and free speech, that they have always enjoyed and taken for granted. They happily trade it in for short term ‘peace and quiet’, and the sense that they are riding the moral high ground by distancing themselves from anything or anybody that is labeled as intolerant or racist. Therefore it is such an effective strategy to label islam critics as racist (Wilders), deranged and mentally scarrred (Ayaan Hirsi Ali).
Many pseudo liberals are simply oblivious to the intolerance that they are shielding from criticism.

I just don’t get it.
Did these apologists not take history in school?
This is happening in Europe, that place which was almost destroyed by the apologists among our grandparents, who believed that playing nice with Hitler would make him into a ‘good little dictator’! And now they are apologizing to another would-be group of totalitarians, and for what? Our western values?
Shame, shame, shame, shame!
