That’s got to be the answer. This is the second time in as many weeks that an anonymous source has sent him a fake picture. Someone out there with rudimentary graphic design skills and a score to settle must be sending him this stuff.
It does seem likely especially since this stuff has all come out since he posted his rant against ‘pranks’.
