An Iranian PhD student in St. John’s, Newfoundland – Farhood Azarsina (pictured) – was sentenced to an additional 18 days in prison for sexually assaulting a woman on an elevator (he’s already served 3 weeks while awaiting trial). He said it was an ‘impulse’.

I use the term ‘pig’ here because – well, bloody hell, what else do you call a guy who traps a woman in an elevator and then sexually assaults her and then blames her for causing it?

He needs some cheering up because his cell mates have been calling him hurtful names and have been threatening to beat him.
TOBE CLEAR: ‘Pig’ is the phrase that is often used in the west for men who are crude and sexist. He is a pig. He, this Farhood, is a pig. If you justify his actions in any way, YOU are a pig.

First of all I’d like to apologize for the rude, irrational and frankly disturbing views of some of these people who I am unfortunate to call my countrymen…

The original title was a bit (if unintentionally) racist, as it resembled a Daily Express headline at the time of EU integration in the UK (of which I was a resident)(although they whined about Polish unskilled labour and the like) .
The inherent sexism in many of my countrymen’s world view is beautifully illustrated above.

If you lived in a country in which people were too limited on sexual issues, you would not judge him on this matter in a bad way. Although I think this boy must have some mental problems, I believe human should control him/herself in all situations.
But If an Iranian boy does such a awful thing we are not allowed to say all Iranians could have done the same, at least I would not.
I believe we can not judge him as an Iranian but as a man who had had mental and sexual problems. As justice everyone from all around the world can do some ridicules thing like this or maybe worse. Yes he should be punished but Iranians should not. We can not kill a country because there is just one bad guy there.
